Almost Christmas
It just isn’t Christmas without Dad… it’s Almost Christmas. He had been gone for almost four months when these pictures were taken, and everyone was putting on a brave face. The kids managed to have a good time when the presents came out, but it was still a sad, lonely Christmas. My aunt and uncle decorated a tree with orange and white… the colors of his favorite college football team (UT Vols). It’s a Christmas I’ll never forget.
These pictures were take Christmas Eve 2008. Layout created on February 16, 2010 for Stuff to Scrap’s Feb. 16th speed scrap (my first time). We had very little time to complete the instructions given to us, and now that I look back at my layout I can see a few things I would like to change. The left and right pictures could be shifted away from the green frame a bit, and I would like to change the title. But when all is said and done, I think it is a nice layout. Thanks for hosting the speed scrap Nikki! I had a great time!
Speed Scrap Instructions
» Pick out 3 pictures all from the same event.
» Pick out 2 papers, 1 solid 1 pattern.
» Put your pattern down as your background, and with your solid, give it a decorative edge (scallop, etc.) and put it on top of your pattern background so the pattern paper can still be seen.
» Arrange your 3 pictures in a row, anywhere on your page.
» Frame 1 picture with any shape other than what the picture shape is. So, if you picture is rectangle, you can’t use a rectangular frame, but maybe a square or circle, etc. Staple it down.
» Pick any 1 embellishment, 1 ribbon or ricrac, and 1 button. Put the 1 embellishment on the framed picture. Put your button on your ricrac, and put that anywhere on your page.
» Give your layout a title and journal like crazy about the picture. Don’t forget to date it and add those drop shadows.
